Voka TV

Voka TV – a popular OTT TV service in Belarus by national operator Velcom – was relaunched on the new SPB TV Rosing platform. Now, Voka TV users can enjoy over 50 TV channels and a large VOD library on their smartphones, tablets and PCs through an advanced Rosing user interface.

SPB TV Rosing is a fully elaborated platform that allows for an immediate launch of OTT TV or IPTV services, with no time needing to be spent on design and development. SPB TV provides technical support and regular updates for the platform keeping pace with the rapidly changing industry trends. Rosing provides extended content browsing and discovery possibilities, as well as personal user profiles.

SPB TV Rosing instigated the Voka TV transformation from mobile TV to a fully-featured OTT TV service. Our customized solution for Voka TV includes live TV and video transcoding and streaming, Quality Monitoring, content management and customer relationship systems, integration with the operator’s billing system, statistical and analytical services, as well as client applications for Web, iOS, Android and Windows Phone.

Velcom aimed to relaunch Voka TV for all viewers at once, regardless of their primary screen. Thanks to Rosing’s modular structure and intelligible guidelines, its interfaces and functionality were customized in the shortest time possible. It allowed the simultaneous upgrade of Voka TV on all mobile and stationary platforms.

The new Voka TV multiscreen OTT TV service features:

  • Advanced set of subscriptions for TV channels, movies and series
  • Access on computers, smartphones and tablets
  • New mobile applications for Android, iOS and Windows Phone users
  • Catch-up and Time-shift
  • Chromecast support
  • Special Kid’s subscription
  • Integration with MEGOGO content

The service is available not only to big-city citizens, but also to people in the countryside, through Velcom's 3G network which now covers more than 70 percent of Belarus' territory; and by the end of the year will cover 97 percent of the country.

The application can be used either on the Velcom mobile network or simply through Wi-Fi. Internet traffic is free for subscribers who watch Voka mobile TV via the Velcom mobile network.

Unitary enterprise Velcom has been present on the Republic of Belarus telecommunication market since April 1999. It renders communication services under Velcom and Privet trademarks.  Since November 2007, Velcom has been a member of the Telekom Austria Group, one of the leading telecommunication providers in Central and Eastern Europe.
