SPB TV at the IBC2013

September 13-17, SPB TV unveiled new solutions for interactive television at the IBC 2013. Several virtual channels were presented at SPB TV’s stand in order to demonstrate the unique features of this new technology which make watching TV even more amazing and varied. For example, sport fans are now able to watch a football match and study the fixture list, biographies of players and any other information they are interested in at the same time.

SPB TV’s solution allows viewers to participate in quizzes, to acquire goods suggested by a “smart system” which defines their location and processes other available data. The User Profiling System helps TV operators analyze the information about viewers, detect the most profitable ads, and trace the dynamics of the audience. SPB TV also presented new solutions for the monetization of interactive services. Monetization is very important on the actual OTT- and mobile-TV market. SPB TV’s innovations assure its effectiveness.

SPB TV also developed new interface for TV Set-Top-Boxes assuring the functioning of an OTT-service. Many Russian subscribers of the Amediateka service use the Dune HD Set-Top-Box. The Amediateka is one more interesting experience in the implementation of SPB TV solutions. The service has been developed in partnership with one of the largest producers of TV films and series Amedia Company. This permits the legal viewing of the most popular series and films of world’s known channels and studios:  HBO, Showtime, CBS, FOX, Warner, SONY, Disney, Starz as well as the Amedia Company productions. The law against video piracy came into force on August 1, 2013, bringing in the responsibility for illegal distribution of video content and contribute the cost-effectiveness of the such service.
