All-in-one service: E Terra Media launches a unique platform for gamers and eSports fans based on SPB TV's technology solution

On January 27, 2020, E Terra Media holding and its technology partner SPB TV have jointly launched (in a test mode) E Terra Journal, a unique service for fans of eSports and video game industry.

Users of the E Terra Journal service will be granted access to video game reviews, latest news, expert analytics, detailed photo and video reports from events; they will also have the opportunity to watch live E TV, the first and only TV channel about video game industry in the CIS, with a daily coverage of 3 million viewers. In addition to the content dedicated to video games, the channel regularly broadcasts competitions in the most popular eSports disciplines – Dota 2, CS:GO and League of Legends. The E Terra Journal service was developed for video game and eSports fans. According to a report by Newzoo, the eSports audience in Russia will exceed 66 million people by the beginning of 2020.

Natalia Tchaikovskaya, Producer-in-Chief at E Terra Media: "We take into account our viewers' abilities, age and needs, and follow current media trends - in this case, the gradual shift towards Internet-based broadcasting. Having teamed up with SPB TV professionals, we created a fundamentally new product for the audience fond of video games. Now we are engaged in producing content that, I am sure, will be interesting to both avid gamers and beginners. But we'll talk about this later. Now our focus is to create a friendly ecosystem where participants can grow and develop together with us."

Kirill Filippov, CEO of SPB TV: We carried out the implementation of the E Terra Journal service based on the already existing Rosing OTT TV platform. This universal software solution is successfully used for broadcasting content by online cinemas and for delivering video in TV services owned by mobile operators. However, this is the first time we are using this solution for eSports and gaming. This experience is unusual and rather unique. Gaming and eSports industry is a territory of new opportunities that we seek to use for the successful application of our technological expertise, and perceive the potential commercial success."

The E Terra Journal service is already running on iOS, Android, and web browsers in test mode, and a version for Smart TV is coming soon. The commercial launch is scheduled for mid-February, and the monthly subscription will cost 99 rubles.
