Lebara Play is based on SPB TV's turnkey OTT TV solution, which was customised to Lebara's technical and business requirements. Lebara Play provides users with an opportunity to watch TV and video content on all devices: smartphone, tablet, computer, or via your television set using a set-top box. The service allows users to watch content as it is broadcast, with access to video on demand (3,000 movies and 150 channels in 13 languages, where all content is 100% legal, and is in HD and SD quality).
The main target audiences are migrant communities, as the service provides content from their home countries. During the launch phase, Tamil, Turkish, West African English and West African French content is available for customers in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and France, though it is accessible online and via mobile app globally. As the project rolls out, more languages and regions will be included.
