Yerevan, Armenia, April 17, 2014 – ArmenTel (Beeline trademark) in partnership with SPB TV company announced the launch of an interactive TV service – IPTV. The service will be available to all the subscribers of broadband cable WL Internet in all the cities and rural areas of the Republic of Armenia.
At startup time, a standard TV package, which includes more than 50 local and foreign TV channels, will be available to subscribers. The video signal formats are HD, SD. A monthly subscriber fee for a standard package of channels is 3,000 drams (US$7.50). A TV set top box is provided to subscribers in free use.

Eltex NV media centers, which meet the highest functional and quality requirements, were chosen as a platform for the realization of the project,. A specific feature of Eltex media centers is a combination of sufficiently strong instrumental “filling” and many individual adaptations of system software, added by Eltex specialists on account of Beeline and SPB TV clients in Armenia.
A TV set-top box can be connected to a line adapter of a subscriber with a cable or with Wi-Fi adapter. The signal comes to any TV set or to other devices that have analog or HDMI input. In the near future, an expansion of service tariff plans and an increased number of channels is planned. If necessary, a client is provided with an IPTV equipment installation service.
The IPTV service can be used by 80 percent of subscribers of Beeline’s fixed-line telecommunications in Armenia, in all the cities and remote agricultural areas. According to preliminary estimates in the next 6 months, 5-8 percent of fixed-line telecommunications subscribers of Beeline in Armenia will have this service.
