SPB TV brings its new broadcast technologies to Latin America
Sao Paolo, October 13-16, 2014 - SPB TV, one of the world's leading providers of end-to-end OTT TV, IPTV and mobile TV solutions, is to showcase its innovative broadcast technologies at Futurecom 2014 (http://en.futurecom.com.br), the largest and most authoritative information and communications technology event in Latin America.
At Futurecom 2014, SPB TV will showcase SPB TV Genie - a unique framework solution that dramatically reduces launch time, inspires viewers with outstanding performance and graphic effects, and saves money on powerful hardware and future modifications. Genie allows for developing high-performance, future-proof interfaces for smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles or any other TV-enabled devices in the shortest possible time.
SPB TV will also present its new encoding solution NaNo Encoder, a portable device supporting up to four SD or two HD channels simultaneously. This highly cost-effective tool can be used in various businesses, including TV studios and other production, broadcast or multicast facilities. This new transcoding solution is very convenient and can encode video whether at a stadium or just a small studio, and distribute it via CDN or the cloud.
Beyond that, SPB TV will present its renewed platform with High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), as well as the use of OTT in private or public cloud technology (for example, Amazon Cloud), allowing operators or other companies who want to release their own OTT service to do so quickly and cost effectively.
Furthermore, business development director at SPB TV Latin America Cynthia Fujikawa Nes will participate on the panel "What is the future of pay TV with the growing use of the internet and OTT services?" on 15th October 2014, 11:30 AM. On this panel the current state of affairs, the outlook for the OTT market in Brazil, monetization opportunities that pay TV operators and channels can explore through OTT services, and new business models associated with interactivity will be discussed.
