Amsterdam, September 10, 2014 - SPB TV, one of the world's leading providers of end-to-end OTT TV, IPTV and mobile TV solutions, will use this year's International Broadcasting Convention (IBC2014 - http://www.ibc.org), held on 11-16 September in Amsterdam, to showcase innovative digital broadcast technology in its product line and share its vision on the emerging markets growth strategy.
Participating in IBC's world-class exhibition, SPB TV will for the first time introduce SPB TV Genie - a unique framework solution that dramatically reduces the time before launch, inspires viewers with outstanding performance and graphic effects, and saves money on powerful hardware and future modifications. Genie allows for developing high-performance future-proof interfaces for smartphones, tablets, PCs, Smart TVs, set-top boxes, game consoles, or any other TV-enabled devices in the shortest possible time.
It will also present its renewed platform with High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), as well as the use of OTT in the private or public cloud technology (for example, Amazon Cloud), allowing operators or other companies who want to release their own OTT service to do it quickly and cost effectively.
Furthermore, SPB TV will showcase its new encoding solution NaNo Encoder, a portable device supporting up to 4 SD or 2 HD channels simultaneously. This highly cost effective tool can be used in various businesses, including TV studios and other production, broadcast or multicast facilities. This new transcoding solution is very convenient and can encode video at a stadium or a small studio and distribute it via CDN or cloud.
"We are proud to be in the heart of the video revolution with our ability to create and deliver truly world-class innovative and unique solutions that help build brand loyalty and maximise revenues," said SPB TV's CEO Kirill Filippov, adding that the company "has always invested heavily in innovation with the 80 percent of our staff working in research and development."
At IBC2014, SPB TV's leadership will share an up-to-date vision for the industry on the strategy for developing in emerging markets at a special event for the media and experts "OTT TV: The Future of Emerging Markets". Kirill Filippov and Sebastian-Justus Schmidt and will share insights and recent findings of SPB TV's OTT TV Survey 2014 at IBC Exhibition Hall 14 (Stand 14.Е17) on 12 September, Friday, at 17:00. It will reveal some unique developments in the fast-growing consumer base and recent products use in emerging markets. With a sample of 50,000 respondents, SPB TV Survey 2014 focused on the ways modern TV is consumed and what TV users are like. It was conducted in five languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. The majority of respondents were based in Brazil, India, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, South Africa and Ukraine.
"Emerging markets provide investors with a serious potential for growth. We see many lucrative opportunities in such promising markets as Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Eastern Europe," says Mr. Filippov, who regularly comments on emerging markets in the IPTV News - Expertise Zone and earlier this year took part in the thematic expert discussion at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum's (SPIEF) annual event on the IT industry futures. "Active integration of innovative technologies in a product line for a large consumer base, combined with easier norms and regulations, lead to the better environment to operate and maximise return on investment", he highlights.
