Beeline Uzbekistan launches online cinema based on SPB TV technology platform

April 23, Tashkent. A major mobile operator Beeline Uzbekistan presents Beeline TV – the multi-platform service created by SPB TV.

This is the first full-fledged OTT TV service launched in Uzbekistan. Having purchased daily or monthly subscription, viewers can enjoy free TV channels, thousands of foreign films and TV series, exclusive concerts and music videos featuring native artists, TV versions of Uzbek theater performances, and a large collection of cartoons. When viewing video content via the Beeline TV app, Beeline subscribers are not charged for mobile Internet.

It is for the first time that Beeline TV presents its own video and TV content service (that has no mobile traffic restrictions) on the local telecom market. The registration system is simple and phone-number-based. It is possible to register a number of profiles, which is convenient for family viewing. Other functions include "live" TV-channel previews, delayed TV viewing and "on-hold broadcasting", possibility to create a list of favorite TV channels and movies, interactive TV listings with reminders, and parental control function.

"SPB TV has always considered Uzbekistan as a promising market for the application of our technologies. We are excited to be the first technology provider able to launch the OTT TV service in the country. With the gradual development of communication infrastructure in the country, we expect a significant increase in demand for OTT TV services in Uzbekistan", – said Kirill Filippov, CEO of SPB TV.

Besides, the Beeline TV app provides its subscribers access to the advanced version of ivi – the largest online cinema in the CIS and the partner of Beeline Uzbekistan.

"This regional partnership is a first-of-its-kind alliance for ivi! Now Beeline Uzbekistan subscribers will have access to movies, series and cartoons from the ivi catalog integrated in the Beeline TV app. The partnership will make the world of licensed cinema more accessible to viewers from Uzbekistan; besides, it will provide Beeline subscribers with new options of movie watching. The use of our collection means access to exclusive movie premieres in high-quality video resolution, new productions of Russian cinema, popular TV series, as well as children's cartoons and animated series", - says Artem Egorenkov, Director for International Development at ivi online cinema.

Besides ivi content, Beeline subscribers will get access to the exclusive content generated by native artists, including concerts and music videos.

"Beeline TV is a product created thanks to long-term observations of subscribers' preferences. Volume of video content consumption, digital literacy, and expectations towards new products are growing every year; therefore, the demand for new solutions is growing, too. Multiple tests and surveys, research and market analysis allowed us to build an innovative and accessible platform, while using the long-term experience of Beeline Uzbekistan as the local market leader. The creation of an online cinema with unlimited Internet traffic and ability to watch TV for 499 soms per day gives us confidence that, from the point of view of digital technologies, we keep finding ways to please our customers", - said Gairat Makhkamov, Director for Customer Services at Beeline Uzbekistan.

Beeline TV multi-platform service is available as an application for mobile devices running Android and iOS, on the web resource bearing the same name, and on TVs with SMART TV function.

"The appearance of this digital product at the market means the start of a new era for our show business, since, in addition to the traffic consumption, the product takes into account the necessity and relevance of legal content," - says Uzbek pop star Ulugbek Rahmatullayev. – My team and I are sure this solution is a necessity to our artists. Beeline TV will offer our fans and audience a convenient platform where anyone will be able to find something to their liking, having done just a couple of clicks on their smartphone."
