MWC2016, Barcelona, February 22, 2016 – Switzerland’s SPB TV AG, a leading global provider of end-to-end OTT TV, IPTV and mobile TV solutions, will unveil its innovative single-platform product line at the Mobile World Congress on 22-25 Feb-ruary. It will showcase SPB TV Rosing, the fast launch TV platform for operators, its new SPB TV Astra transcoder powered by Intel, and SPB TV Home, the next-generation TV-box with innovative remote control.
SPB TV AG collaborated with Intel Corporation to deliver SPB TV Astra, a profes-sional solution for fast, high-quality processing of linear TV broadcast and on-demand video streams from a single head-end to any mobile, desktop or home de-vice. The transcoder uses Intel® Core™ i7 processors with media accelerators and delivers high-density transcoding via the Intel® Media Server Studio. “We are de-lighted that our collaboration with Intel ensures faster and high quality transcoding, making our new product performance remarkable,” said CEO of SPB TV AG Kirill Filippov.
“We are thrilled that our continuing collaboration with SPB TV AG is showcased in SPB TV Astra – a great example of how our advanced media accelerators and soft-ware tools can optimize video for TV and mobile devices,” commented Jeff McVeigh, Intel Software and Services Group Vice President and Visual Computing Products General Manager.
Kirill Filippov will speak at the MWC conference session on Mobile Video Explosion to share SPB TV’s experience of delivering mobile TV solutions worldwide with a focus on emerging markets. He will discuss the future of mobile video, prospects for 5G, demand for local content, featuring SPB TV’s award-winning case of Lebara Play, and monetization strategies for mobile.
Continuing to expand in emerging markets, SPB TV AG will announce a new key strategic partnership, bringing a new IPTV service to Asia, which will be based on its innovative and efficient SPB TV Rosing platform for operators.
“This year we go to Barcelona as a single-platform product company. With innova-tive solutions that change the whole experience of a set-top box and our new prod-uct line, we are moving to a much wider customer base,” stated SPB TV AG Co-Founder Sebastian-Justus Schmidt. “We thank our valued partners worldwide for their confidence in us and look forward to working together on advancements in mobile TV and video technology solutions.”
