An interactive IPTV service from SPB TV is available to all the Beeline’s subscribers of broadband cable WL Internet in all the cities and rural areas of the Republic of Armenia. The standard TV package includes more than 50 local and foreign TV channels.
ArmenTel (Beeline trademark) in partnership with SPB TV have launched an interactive IPTV service available to all the subscribers of broadband cable WL Internet in all the cities and rural areas of the Republic of Armenia.
ArmenTel provides services of GSM 900/1800 and 3G (UMTS) standard mobile communication, fixed telephony as well as Internet access based on CDMA and ADSL technologies under Beeline brand on the whole territory of Armenia. In 2012 the company brought into commercial operation Internet access service by FTTB technology - Hi-Line Optic.
The company has been taking a leading position in the Armenia’s telecommunication market since 1995. The long-term success is determined by investing in the development of operator’s infrastructure throughout the Armenia’s territory, including all regional cities and villages.
Launch of the IPTV service has a significant social impact for population of the Republic. Thanks to ArmenTel’s initiative, even subscribers from isolated regions have received an opportunity to use an advanced IPTV service for the competitive price. The service is already available in all cities and more than 30 small populated localities of Armenia.
SPB TV IP TV technological solution has been chosen as a platform for the realization of the project. SPB TV’s technologies and international experience allow to launch a full-featured IPTV service and to meet the demands of the population in high quality video.
To get the IPTV service Armentel’s subscribers need to use an IPTV set-top box, Eltex NV. At startup time, a standard TV package includes more than 50 local and foreign TV channels. The video signal formats are HD, SD. A monthly subscriber fee for a standard package of channels is 3,000 drams (US$7.50). A TV set top box is provided to subscribers in free use.
A TV set-top box can be connected to a line adapter of a subscriber with a cable or with Wi-Fi adapter. The signal comes to any TV set or to other devices that have analog or HDMI input. In the nearest future, an expansion of service tariff plans and an increased number of channels is planned.
